"Need" significantly overstates the case.  The severity of this bug,
"minor", is quite correct IMHO; pure virtual build-deps cause no real
problems, nor do additional dependencies on zlib which isn't going to change
its soname any time in the foreseeable future.

There are far bigger fish to fry; I don't imagine this will be a priority
for me before significant headway is made in the archive wrt spurious
dependencies on libs that *don't* have stable ABIs.
