Hmm I have never seen this output of mpt-status -p, i sadly lack some more 
test hardware :(
So all in all it does not work for you as expected.
I will see that I get it changed to -i then. I will try to provide some 
packages tonight (sid and backport for sarge). Please test them and give me 
some feedback once you get the packages, so that I can be sure that it works 
for you.
