But I cannot find it from your website... The install section is mentioning only apt-get. How could someone not from Debian install it ?

The debian bug is that it should not be a debian native package, but a 'classical' package, with an upstream version, a debian version, and an .orig.tar.gz.
Well, that's just a wishlist bug, but I find it a pity that the cowdancer package is not easily usable from outside the Debian world.
