Hi,
CID fonts are basically for CJK people. But for X it seems not so
important. Not having CID fonts are fine with us these days since there
are other fonts for us.
The only annoiance caused by this is UPGRADE.
Since we had mkcfm, we have old index files. With missing mkcfm, the
index becomes out of sync. Then fragile program such as xemacs21 will
hit its oldest but popular bug and segfaults. Ouch!
If /usr/share/font/CID and below are"rm -r"ed, things got normal for me.
(I am not knowlegeable enough to be sure if this cause bad things...)
So it seems correct action for updated defoma script provided by the
x-ttcidfont-conf seems be:
Check if mkcfm is on the system
if YES: run mkcfm to update /usr/share/font/CID
if NO: zap /usr/share/font/CID
Currently it runs mkcfm all the time without checking.
