Package: mozilla-thunderbird Version: 1.0.2-2.sarge1.0.8e.1 Severity: normal
After upgrading TB consistently crashes when the "write" button is pressed (i.e. when the layout of the new mail is being rendered). I've started TB with -g to obtain the following backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x41f3ce47 in nsASyncMenuGeneration::HandleEvent () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/components/libgklayout.so (gdb) bt #0 0x41f3ce47 in nsASyncMenuGeneration::HandleEvent () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/components/libgklayout.so #1 0x41f3c10f in nsMenuFrame::UpdateDismissalListener () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/components/libgklayout.so #2 0x405c7197 in PL_HandleEvent () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/libxpcom.so #3 0x405c70c4 in PL_ProcessPendingEvents () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/libxpcom.so #4 0x405c8d59 in nsEventQueueImpl::NotifyObservers () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/libxpcom.so #5 0x40d68c45 in nsBaseWidget::FreeNativeData () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/components/libwidget_gtk2.so #6 0x40512dbf in g_vasprintf () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #7 0x404ed582 in g_main_depth () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #8 0x404ee5f8 in g_main_context_dispatch () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #9 0x404ee930 in g_main_context_dispatch () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #10 0x404eeed3 in g_main_loop_run () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #11 0x401d0bb3 in gtk_main () from /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 #12 0x40d69076 in nsAppShell::ReleaseGlobals () from /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/components/libwidget_gtk2.so #13 0x40c93754 in ?? I'm proficient in C (and Objective-C) but not in C++ and I do not have experience with gecko/mozilla/gtk code. Since this is a production system from which I currently cannot compose mails from, I'm very eager for a fix. Please contact me if there is anything (including potential financial support) I can do to have this issue resolved ASAP. Thank you for you support!
