Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2
Version: 1.9.6cvs1-1
Severity: normal
Start 'sylpheed-claws-gtk2' for the first time and a first time user
setup routine begins. Suppose a user fills out all the boxes, and gets
to the "Security" part and clicks "Save". Suppose he inputs a mail
folder name which happens not to be writable by him.
A box pops up:
Error
Creation of the mailbox failed.
Maybe some files already exist, or you don't have permission to write there.
[ OK ]
If the user clicks "OK", the Setup box vanishes, and the user is left at
the main SCG2 screen. There is no prompt to indicate the user's data
has been saved, so it seems like the data they entered is gone! (It's
not truly gone, it's only hiding under "Configuration>Edit Accounts".)
Worse, if the user then closes SCG2, and restarts, it commences the
first time user setup routine again, with no indication that it already
has most of the data it needs -- all it needs to know is a valid mail
folder, but it prompts for everything.
It would be better if the setup routine prompted for a writable mail
folder again, after a "Creation of the mailbox failed" error.
Hope this helps...
