On a laptop with an internal snd_hda_intel and external usb speakers (which use snd_usb_audio). When alsaconf is run it detects only the internal card. (It also shows "legacy Probe legacy ISA (non-PnP) chips"). It does this regardless of whether snd_usb_audio is loaded or unloaded first. After running alsaconf, snd_usb_audio gets unloaded if it was loaded previously.
