Thanks for your quick answer.

After more thinking, even with packages in sync, the bug is still valid,
as 2.6.18+1.3.0~pre9-10 >> 1.3.0~pre9-10+2.6.18-8

This would require an epoch, or changing GENCONTROL_ARGS in
debian/rules.real in linux-modules-nonfree to use the same versioning as
module-assistant, ie.
$(MODULEVERSION)-$(VERSION_DEBIAN)+$(VERSION_SOURCE)


I am however not aware how it is possible and what c^Hwould be the
consequences of this change (especially for users of the current
version).
