If an 'image' attribute is added to the 'href' tag, it expands to the 'img' XHTML tag with a 'border="0"' attribute. See /usr/share/wml/include/std/href.wml:48 This is not valid XHTML. It might make sense to leave it out from the output so that users can use their own style for the output. An alternative is to generate a 'style="border:0px"' rather than a 'border="0"' tag. This validates as XHTML 1.1 also.
