I don't know wtf is going on but it seems that my taglib is so broken that I can't use any decent music player, especially juk and amarok. Here is a brief description of what is happening... Just finished upgrading from Sarge to Etch. Everything was fine until I wanted to play some music. I just started amarok like usual, and I saw that my collection disappeared. Alrite, I thought, there was a major upgrade of mysql and maybe the stuff just disappeared, fine, ok, I can rebuild the DB. Amarok started rebuilding the database, and then, suddenly... (part of the error message has been translated to english by me) <start of error message> Sorry, but searching the collection has been canceled, because there were too many errors. Advice: A common source for this problem is a broken 'TagLib' package on your computer. Replacing this package may help fixing the issue. The following files caused problems: /media/music/Vader/vader - decapitated saints.mp3 /media/music/Vader/vader - vicious circle.mp3 (...a long list of mp3s) <end of error message> I've been toying with TagTool, trying to workaround this bug, but it seems that the only solution would be removing all id3v2 tags from all of my mp3s. I can't let this happen! o_O XMMS was still able to play the music. Amarok too, but as soon as I tried to play a file with "broken" tags, Amarok crashed silently. Then I've tried juk. I'm not sure if it's not my fault, if I didn't broke anything accidentaly... I had some problems with other stuff a few days ago, and I had to fix it by hand...
