The standard distribution of LILO 22.7.3 does not exhibit this problem
on my computer. I have a system with 3 IDE disks. I attached a dual
CF/SM reader which installs disks /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. With the
same 4 "disk=/dev/sdX inaccessible" lines (X=a..d) in my config file I
get no errors.
Since you are running the Debian-modified LILO boot loader, I would
suggest you do the following:
a. Use the standard LILO distribution.
b. Report the problem to Debian for attention.
I know that Debian modifies both the boot installer (/sbin/lilo) and
boot-time (16-bit real mode) codes. They will have to insure that
their modifications do not break things.
