Actually, 0.7.9 is a crippled 0.8 (it has the networking code disabled). We knew about the release, but the freeze is putting us in a difficult position. We already have 0.8alpha1 in experimental and 0.7.4-3 in both Etch and Sid. Jean, I think we should release a 0.7.9 package and let it stay in Sid a little longer than usual, then request its migration.
