This also seems to be configurable via /etc/pbuilderrc. There's no bug here in debconf. This bug should either be closed, or possibly reassigned to pbuilder if you think it shouldn't be doing this. Perhaps pbuilder would do better to not override the frontend when being used interactively via 'pbuilder login'. -- see shy jo
