This helps, but it would be much more friendly to be able to set this in pbuilderrc (I can't think about not using it), but the doc says it must be an absolute path there... Especially, since AUTO_DEBSIGN cannot succeed unless I have write access to the output dir, not being able to specify BUILDRESULT=.. by default is disturbing. And to stick to the original issue, using --buildresult .. still leaves in .. the *_source.changes file, while the .dsc and .diff.gz it records md5sums for were overwritten by the ones produced by the full build.
