I don't know what should be there; I didn't write udev, I'm not the
maintainer, and I don't know how it works.  I'm hoping that what you write
would actually help me understand just what the hell is going on in there.
All I know for certain is that removing that file and restarting udev
allowed recalculation of what names were appropriate for my newly installed
dvd writer

When I reported the problem, the advice was to read README.Debian.  So I
suppose maybe README.Debian is supposed to contain the info that would have
helped me....?
