Could you please compile tracker with debug symbols enabled [1] (--enable-debug) and check with gdb, what g_filename_to_uri, line 110, returns. Most likely NULL, because that is passed to md5_init (init 120). We have to investigate, why g_filename_to_uri does not return a proper URI.
