It isn't. I'm trying to decide what to do about that. I'm probably
going to wrap mcelog in a script for the cron, to check that the
device exists, so that the script would disable itself and send a
mail.

This, too, doesn't work when /dev/mcelog isn't a valid device, but
then, there's not much I can do.

In both cases, I think the admin *must* know, and that I must not hide
the problem away from him.

Should be fixed in the upcoming days.
