Fabio is right, gnomebaker does crap [1]. You do not need to format a DVD+RW
all the time but only once and you do not need to blank it. The menu
item says "format" which is bullshit since it means "blank".
Further, it does not check whether the format was executed correctly and
just says "format done" or so.
What it should do:
- check the format of the medium
- for DVD+RW, have a "Format" dialog and a "Blank" dialog. Both shall
warn the users because repeating re-formating does no good for the
DVD+RW media. And the Blank dialog telling that blanking is "not
neccessary for DVD+RW. It can be just overwritten with new data."
- For DVD-RW, the considerations are the same as for CD-RW. The Dialog
shall be better merged with CD-RW.
Eduard.
