What about ac changes? IIRC anacron is supposed to be stopped when running on batteries and started when running on ac. Atm anacron only provides hooks for APM (apmd) which is not used that widely anymore. Imho anacron should ship these hooks itself, but unfortunately there is no default/common powermanagement infrastructure in Debian atm. Hopefully this will change in the future and we will have pm-utils for that. For now, I'd either suggest to run cron in combination with anacron or add anacron to SUSPEND2DISK_RESTART_SERVICES and SUSPEND2RAM_RESTART_SERVICES in /etc/powersave/sleep. Unfortunately ac changes are still not handled this way.
