Apparently, in #406831, Helge Kreutzmann submitted a German translation of auctex's debconf templates while Frank Küster submitted another on in #411855.
I just went on these as auxctex came up on my radar as a possible NMU target...until I discovered that you guys were just talking about an upload for the next week-end. So, of course, I won't touch it but you at least need to sort this issue out... --
