SUGGESTION

A sysadm who reads log files regular manner would find it helpful to
get the listing in correct order. This would help (head -10, tail ..)
etc commands, not to mention reading the logs in order as needed.

Please use regular template for all log files, like 3 numbers
should be plenty for all uses. The above would become:

   mainlog
   mainlog.001
   mainlog.002
   ...
   mainlog.010.gz
