Package: fakechroot Version: 2.5-1.1 Severity: wishlist I particularly care because I am using pbuilder with fakechroot on a machine that uses nscd; pbuilder stuffs an entry into the chroot'ed /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and /etc/group, but then can't reference it.
(There's no exposed mechanism to actually tell a process to not use nscd even if present, which could have been a workaround.) Thus it seems that fakechroot should also fake connect bind getpeername getsockname so that unix domain sockets can be properly mapped to fakespace; in this particular case, it would mean conveniently not seeing the system's nscd, but would also mean that one could run an nscd (or other service like Xnest) inside fakechroot.
