It doesn't even need to open a file. $ xpdf Warning: Attempt to remove nonexistent passive grab $ I only clicked on "Quit". I tried to build xpdf without stripping and with CFLAGS='-O0' in the environment and run it in gdb, but that didn't show anything interesting.
