When booting the kernel with additional option 'debug', the file /tmp/initramfs.debug gets cleaned away during bootclean, which makes it impossible to inspect it after buut unless debugging levels with shell start are used. IMHO depending on TMPTIME to be set is probably too much to expect because users may not have the chance to change its value once they experience trouble during initramfs stage. Isn't it a better idea to move /tmp/initramfs.debug out of the way or tack it on to the bootlog instead of leaving it in /tmp ? -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii debianut 2.17 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii e2fsprog 1.39+1.40-WIP-2006.11.14+dfsg-2 ext2 file system utilities and lib ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-23 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii mount 2.12r-19 Tools for mounting and manipulatin ii sysvinit 2.86.ds1-38 System-V-like utilities Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii psmisc 22.3-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
