first, much thanks for fixing this.
As you may have noticed, this was fixed one day too late for Etch; on 2007-03-04 a new qt4-x11 not intended for Etch was uploaded to sid, just in time for the new avahi to be unable to transition. There are other more minor issues for the transition: currently avahi didn't build on MIPS and alpha due to a transient GTK+ uninstallability and according to the latest release update the fix won't be allowed in Etch since today.

The impact of shipping #409513 in Etch is to add from 3 to 10 seconds of boot time to most new installs. This would probably increase the total boot time of a laptop running Etch by 15 minutes while Etch will be stable. Multiply that by the number of such laptops and you get an interesting increase of total boot time of Debian machines. Therefore, do you intend to upload a fix for #409513 to t-p-u? If so, I recommend to contact the release team soon.
