Hi, Apparently there is an issue with the intel modesetting driver and certain LVDS panel resolutions.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9076 has the same symptoms as I had, and getting the current Debian package source from experimental and changing the value of I9XX_P2_LVDS_SLOW_LIMIT to 90000 helped. The recompiled driver now works.
