...this is a duplicate bug report, this bug is present in sylpheed-gtk1 too. ...I'm a Maildir guy, my inbox usually has an handful of mails and Sylpheed-gtk1 usually starts up promptly, however on entering my debian user Maildir, S-gtk1 will chew on for several minutes to index the 175000 or so messages in there. ...last time I did that, I hit "v" to hide the mail text before entering, the syrup slow scrolling on the message index, one subject line per second on 175000, is what I consider close enough to a stall, so I killed it and tried again. ...on the first retry, I did get a greyed out gui, I killed that too to retry with --debug to see WTF is going on. No more gui. No sys load. No hint from --debug. No difference even after sleaping on it overnight.
