I also have an issue with this package. On an IBM thinkpad i240 (300mhz cpu, 192mb ram), I get a time out on the pcmcia socket. I don't get this time out with the pcmcia-cs package, only with the kernel based pcmcia.
This issue occurs with a Netgear MA401 wireless network card containing a Prism Chipset. A "normal" wired network card doesn't have this issue. I tried the solution suggested in this thread, but that doesn't do anything.
