severity 401758 critical
thanks

It'd be awfully nice to get this fix into etch. Given its imminent release
and (more importantly) the fact that this bug "makes unrelated software on
the system (or the whole system) break,"[1] critical seems to be justified.
We've been running a libnss-ldap with this patch on several systems under
high load and have experienced no problems.

[1] Once nscd(8) leaks enough file descriptors, any further name service
activity blocks, preventing most any other activity on the machine.
If you're lucky, you can log in on the console and restart nscd or
reboot the machine. If not, it's time for a hard power cycle.
