No problems, better late then never! :)

I'm sorry to say that we missed getting this into Etch which was
deep-frozen right before the potential sponsor got a chance to upload
the i18n version I prepared. :(

I'm not sure how to improve it. If I explain it as verbosely as I can
how it works, could you help me out with how to shortly explain it?

BandwidthD can write CDF files which contains the captured data. This is
some sort of w3c specified format that is supposed to be common so that
any application can use it. (I don't know of any which does....)
See http://www.w3.org/2004/CDF/
I guess it's some kind of "simplified XML" or something like that.

BandwidthD itself can read this though! That's the recover_cdf config
option.
When bandwidthd is restarted, it ofcourse needs to "remember" old
traffic if it's going to have old information in the new graphs
the next time it writes them out (which is done every x minutes).

So, while the output_cdf can be useful without having recover_cdf
enabled (third party application might use the CDF files). The
recover_cdf isn't of much use unless the output_cdf is enabled.

So... why am I talking about slow machines?
Writing CDF (output_cdf) isn't a problem at all....
The problem is that parsing a HUGE cdf file can take time (on a slow
machine). Parsing the entire file will be done by bandwidthd on startup
_if_ recover_cdf is enabled.
You ask, so what?
Well, the parsing is done before bandwidthd daemonizes itself - because
it needs to write an error message and abort if there's something it
can't parse in the CDF, to not overwrite the CDF when capturing new
traffic.
Which todays serialized init this can halt the entire boot process for a
long time while starting up bandwidthd if you have been running
bandwidthd for months/years and capturing traffic.
I've been thinking of ways to work around this but not come up with any
not-too-ugly way... The "real fix" is ofcourse to replace init with
something that can do parallell startup of daemons....

[...]

I've fixed all other things you mentioned, thanks again!
Updated "work-in-progress" should soon be available at
http://www.fatal.se/pub/debian/bandwidthd-latest/

The config file option is "output_cdf" while I named the debconf-question
"outputcdf" for some reason I don't remember.
I won't bother trying to rename it to match, since then people who has
already answered it might end up in trouble.
I've updated the help text to "output_cdf", since they shouldn't care
about what the debconf-template uses anyway....

I've attached an updated (fuzzy) de.po (along with the template.pot).
It would be nice if you could have a look at the fuzzy strings (they
probably don't need any updates). Don't bother if you have any
suggestions for the above, I'll send you another updated one after
changing it in that case....
