Package: finger Version: 0.17-10 Severity: wishlist Hi,
>From my preliminary research (running strings on the binary) it seems that finger only supports looking at an mbox file in /var/mail to determine if a fingered user has mail/when they've last read it etc. This is a bit suboptimal on a system with maildir mailboxes. It'd be nice if it could consult PAM or something to figure out how the system is configured to deliver mail, and check the configured location. No idea if this is actually feasible or practical. regards Andrew -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-686 Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages finger depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries finger recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
