That is currently under discussion on the GCC mailing list. At the moment, the development version of 4.3 indeed produces an error for files that have no newline at the end. However, I hope this will be downgraded again to a warning.
OK, it sounds like a good idea to fix the KDevelop source, if only to avoid the warning. Will prepare an upload and submit the fix upstream.
