I can get the seg fault to stop by applying the attached patch. I'm not sure if it's the right solution.
Also, note that http://packages.qa.debian.org/a/airstrike.html shows that the source package was last uploaded in November of 2004. If you grab the latest version out of subversion, you will see that the source code has changed considerably from version 0.99+1.0pre6.
