Yes, it's still present in etch. Didn't try past etch.

ext3, not really deeply nested. Some directories with reasonable amonts
of files in them (> 10k).

I can of course strace, but I'm not sure where to look at.

It's increasing pretty monotonic as far as I can see, and does not go
down over time that I can see. But I could plot the memory usage versus
time I guess... but not in the near future (weeks), as study is pretty
busy lately.
