The bug says: Package: passwd Version: 20000902-12 Severity: normal usermod causes packet installation failures in NIS environments due to just failing when a non-local (ie NIS) password entry is supposed to be modified. This causes other packages to be uninstallable, for example mysql-server. I'm afraid that we're far from having enough information to even understand what is really being reported. Do you have any other details you can gie about this bug or is it so old that you can't even remember what it was about? Sorry for coming so lat�: the shadow package, to which the passwd package belongs to, has been neglected for a while and we're currently in the process of cleaning out its bug log.... With no further details, I will close this bug report soon. --
