Package: bind9
Version: 1:9.4.0-2
Severity: important

After upgrade to version 9.4.0, any attempt to start bind9 fails very quickly with the following in syslog:

Apr 21 15:18:30 sera named[3465]: starting BIND 9.4.0 -u bind
Apr 21 15:18:30 sera named[3465]: found 1 CPU, using 1 worker thread
Apr 21 15:18:30 sera named[3465]: rwlock.c:337: INSIST((rwl->cnt_and_flag & 0x1) != 0) failed
Apr 21 15:18:30 sera named[3465]: exiting (due to assertion failure)

I have no clue as to the problem here, and googling the error is no help.

Since this makes the package completely unusable, I have downgraded to 9.3.4 (which works perfectly for me) until this is fixed.

I am rather busy at the moment, but hopefully I should be able to investigate this problem further in a few days time.
