-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Package: qingy Version: 0.9.3ds1-1 Severity: minor
- --- Please enter the report below this line. --- I was trying out the qingy package for tty2 and noticed that after an xorg update near 20.4.2007 and after that the usual nvidia-binary driver installer run X didn't start with gdm. It worked fine when I changed the nvidia driver back to the open source nv one. Allso nvidia drivers worked fine when I disabled qingy from tty2 and went back to using getty. Thats why the minor flag. Also This might better belong to nvidia driver package not this one but I thought you'd like to know. (I've read something about nvidia's driver locking the bus so that for instance the temperature monitoring is hard for us open source guys...) Other tty's are in resolution 1280x1024 so They are too using the frame-buffer. And my frame-buffer is from vesa-tng so that's one other place to blame if you so want to do ;). And the kernel has been make-kpkg compiled from debian kernels sources with the vesa-tng patch. Sorry for the trouble of reading this as its related to closed source binary blob driver too. - --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.18 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 unstable ftp.sunet.se 500 unstable ftp.fi.debian.org - --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===================================-+-============= libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6) | 2.5-2 libdirectfb-0.9-25 | 0.9.25.1-5 libncurses5 (>= 5.4-5) | 5.5-5 libpam0g (>= 0.76) | 0.79-4 libx11-6 | 2:1.0.3-7 libxss1 | 1:1.1.2-1 libdirectfb-extra | 0.9.25.1-5 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGLNM3L+U4LiXs8vcRAlZMAKCdMFNyxS20G3sOwQ/j2R88SgVMoACaAzsA FUrxJWppyYXq7fYEy2toroo= =oYGC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
