Package: bugs.debian.org Severity: wishlist Many ISPs and universities block outbound port 25 (except to their own servers). This means that reportbug cannot use direct SMTP to bugs.debian.org. How about making bugs.debian.org SMTP listen on the submission port, 587, as well? reportbug could then default to that, making it even more likely to work in adverse conditions.
As you said in bug #420361, configuration changes to the SMTP server would require DSA intervention. Thus, I have also submitted this as https://rt.debian.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=74 . I will mark it forwarded when this gets a bug number. - Josh Triplett -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21-rc2test (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
