Which probably wouldn't have been that bad as we ought to deprecate
Magick-config in favour of pkg-config anyway. However, I'm not that keen
on seeing this NMU introduce a major new upstream version including a
soname change. Did you coordinate the library transition with -release
yet? Imagemagick has the potential to interfere with other ongoing
transitions due to its large number of library dependencies.

Luciano Bello, the new Imagemagick maintainer, and me are planning to
switch to the current upstream version in unstable soonish, anyway.
Hence, the patches you privided are certainly welcome, but please don't
rush the transition. Personally, I wouldn't mind a small-scale upload to
adjust jasper-dependencies, so imagemagick no longer breaks builds and
installations. Bug me enough, and I'll see to get it done myself over
the weekend. Don't know about Luciano's opinion on this matter, though.

Regards,

Daniel.
