Package: debmirror
Version: 20060907.1
Severity: minor

I was puzzled by the apparently appalling throughput being achieved by
debmirror until I realised it was using a nonsensical total for the
number of bytes transferred.

For example:

Downloaded 60 MiB in 7123s at 8.58 kiB/s

Nearly two hours for 60 MiB looks dreadful, but then I checked how much
it had actually downloaded.

The following downloads occurred during the run of debmirror:

total size is 49346242 speedup is 1.00
total size is 147718710 speedup is 1.00
total size is 112573184 speedup is 1.00

total size is 80825220 speedup is 1.00
total size is 430140616 speedup is 1.00

(I've lined up the numbers to ease addition.)

As you can see, this adds up to more like 5 GiB rather than 60 MiB which
is much more believable on an 8 megabit link.

This happens every time I invoke it with a passable number of files to
be fetched.
