Spiro is a toolkit for curve design, especially font design, created by Raph Levien. It is still experimental but very promising. It contains a new spline implementation based on Euler spirals. It includes python utilities for manipulating curves, a Bezier optimizer, tools to do scan segmenting and compositing into letter classes, suitable for tracing over.
