Package: vim Version: 1:7.0-219+1 Severity: normal When I switched to vim 7.0, I noticed that the behavior of CTRL-C when doing block edits has changed. Here is a typical sequence:
<CTRL+V> (Select a column) I type something <CTRL+C> Previously, hitting CTRL+C in this context would do the same thing as hitting escape. Now it only inserts text in the first line of the selection. This change of behavior is not documented, so I don't think it was done on purpose. I imagine I am not the only person using CTRL+C instead of ESC so that I don't have to move my hands around, so this is rather annoying to me (and probably to them). I tried remapping CTRL+C to ESC, but now get strange behavior. For example: :x<ESC> does nothing :x<CTRL+C> does nothing when CTRL+C is not remapped but quits vim when CTRL+C is remapped to ESC Best regards, Blaise Gassend -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686-smp Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages vim depends on: ii libacl1 2.2.41-1 Access control list shared library ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-25 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libncurses5 5.5-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii vim-common 1:7.0-219+1 Vi IMproved - Common files ii vim-runtime 1:7.0-219+1 Vi IMproved - Runtime files vim recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
