Package: samba-common Version: 3.0.24-6 Severity: minor File: /usr/bin/smbpasswd
Hi, I do not have too much experience with samba and have just called smbpassword on my user account to set a password (which succeeded without warning) and then spent the next 30 minutes debugging why no login was possible. smbpasswd -a mh (as root) was necessary. smbpassword should warn about this condition.
