Hi there, The xgnokii split has been on my TODO list for a while. Hasn't done it yet 'cause when I adopted the package maintainance[1] it was in a pretty rough shape and I didn't have enough time to work it out. Now that I know about your (Matthias') packages, I'll take a look at how you solved it and if it's applicable import your ideas into the official Debian package. (BTW, I'm CC'ing the original debian bug on this subject, just to keep track of things, hope that's okay with you guys...)
As for the -dev package, it's there, it's just called libgnokii{2,3}-dev[2] ! :-) Anyway, Roberto, thanks for the heads up. I can't promise I'll solve this fast, but I can assure you it's being worked on (slower than it should, admittedly, but it is! :-) ). In a not so distant future you should be able to install xgnokii, without the command-line-only gnokii! (Well i see now that this was a error of estimation.) > If it is, should not the Debian package have an xnokii package? Well i would strongly suggest to add a xgnokii and a dev package in debian main. matthias
