Package: amanda-server Version: 1:2.5.1p1-2 Severity: important
When attempting to run 'amrecover' which reads the index for an entry in the disklist containing '"' or '\' as characters, 'amrecover' spins away for an inordinately long time (approximately 60 minutes) compared to those indexes without such special characters (time is normally less than a second). According to http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.archivers.amanda.devel/1875 this is a known problem and is fixed in version 2.5.1p2 (although 2.5.1p3 is now available). I'm raising this bug report as a hook to consider that the AMANDA packages in Etch should perhaps be updated at the 'r1' release. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages amanda-server depends on: ii amanda-common 1:2.5.1p1-2 Advanced Maryland Automatic Networ ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.5-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-2 GNU readline and history libraries ii mailx 1:8.1.2-0.20050715cvs-1 A simple mail user agent amanda-server recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
