Package: varnish Version: 1.0.2-2 Severity: important Under high load scenarios, which Varnish is designed to be used in, Varnish will after a short while stop responding with correct responses to requests, resulting in what can be described as "whiteouts". The user will not get any error messages, and will end up with a white page if the main HTML is served via Varnish.
This issue is most probably related to filling up the disk backend file. The current version of Varnish, 1.0.3, does not exhibit this behaviour. The reason for filing this bug is that the Etch version will be mostly unusable for any production situation. Web sites with low traffic are not the target audience for Varnish anyway. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages varnish depends on: ii gcc 4:4.1.1-15 The GNU C compiler ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.5-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand varnish recommends no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
