Yes.  This works with 1.0-3.  I am able to create the folders fine after
I uninstall 1.0.2-1 and install 1.0-3 (essentially downgrade to 1.0-3).

After the above, I un-installed 1.0-3 and installed 1.0.2-1, the error
doesn *not* occurs again.  I am not able to reproduce the bug now.

This seems to work fine with the 1.0.2-2 package that is in unstable at
the moment.

I think the problem has disappeared automagically.  I am not sure where
it was in the first place though it was very consistenly reproducible
and I was thinking it would be easy to track this from the errors that I
got (about undefined things).
