Contrary to a few languages, the current italian translation of the
shadow manpages does not use gettext. That explains why the
translation is outdated.

This is a very common problem with such "one-shot" man pages translations.

Nicolas (my co-maintainer), do you think that you can generate a PO
files for Italian manpages of shadow from what's currently in the
upstream tarball?

The same could be done, indeed, for all languages that don't use PO
now and we could then send a call for updates/new translation in
Debian i18n mailing list.
