I looked at the code, but although I could determine where the error occurs I do not yet understand why it happens. Dares aborts while checking conditions that should always be, but for your image obviously aren't. I contacted the upstream author, but he also fails to see what happens. I'd be glad if you could provide some more information. If possible perhaps a snippet of the image file that causes the error.
