Hi, this bug seems to have appeared, because version 5.0.2.dfsg-1 was the first upload of VTK5 that was build on amd64 (according to the PTS).
The symptoms of this bug could be fixed by uploading a VTK package built on i386. I checked it with pbuilder and current sid chroots. VTK config on i386 uses /usr/lib while amd64-builds use /usr/lib64. However, I have currently no idea how to convince cmake to report /usr/lib on amd64 as well.
